Drummer Nick D’Virgilio has announced the NDV Drumless Mixes Contest, which will run from today (September 30th, 2020) to October 31st, 2020.  The winner will be chosen on November 7th and the grand prize will be:

• A DW 6.5 x 14 Black Nickel Over Brass snare drum, signed by owner and master drum builder John Good.
• A set of NDV stick coasters (designed and hand built by Bobby Dellarocco – Bobby engineered on the record)
• Signed copies of both the Vinyl and CD versions of “Invisible”
• A personal video sent to you on your birthday with a special Birthday song- even if your birthday is 12 months after the contest.

Nick D’Virgilio explains about the contest and the rules: “Do you like to play drums? Do you like to win cool drum gear? If you said yes, then you should join in the “Nick D’Virgilio record and film yourself playing to a couple songs from Invisible” contest. Or – NDRAFYPTACSFI – pronounced “nadraffy patassfi”. Ha! That’s a joke”

“To celebrate the release of drumless mixes from my record “Invisible” that you can purchase and play along to here, I am holding a contest. Record and film yourself playing along to two songs from “Invisible:  “Turn Your Life Around” & “I’m Gone”. We have a great grand prize, and all you have to do is play a couple of tunes.”

“The reason I chose those two songs is this: I want to see you groove as well as being able to play the fast and technical stuff. “Turn Your Life Around” is more technical, has many different sections, but still grooves. The drum part for “I’m Gone” is simple on purpose with deliberate drum fills. It’s all about the pocket.”

“I put together some instructions, along with the drumless mixes (see them here). Purchase the two tracks (or whatever other track you might want to jam with later on – you can even buy all the tracks at once if you think you’ll enjoy them), get the downloadable files, your groove on, bring your chops, and show me what you got! I can’t wait to see it! Your video will also be posted to the world so everyone can see you rock! “
